John-David (JD) Longwell

Whether helping clients navigate conflict, life transitions, or the profound inner territory that transformative experiences can open, JD brings practical, real-world experience to individuals in his local community and across the globe. That breadth of experience reflects both a 30-year career as a corporate executive and decades of contemplative practice, coaching training, and his own ongoing inner work — bringing a rare combination of practical and experiential wisdom to his clients.

JD's path to mediation began long before his corporate career — as a Peace Corps Volunteer and trainer in the 1970s, where he developed a deep passion for working across cultural and economic divides. That thread of finding common ground ran through his subsequent 30 years in the corporate world and ultimately drew him back to people-centered work when he left that world behind in 2014.

Since then, he has completed advanced training and earned recognition as a professional mediator with the Mediation Association of Colorado. For over a decade he served as a contract mediator with the Colorado Office of Dispute Resolution (ODR) for the 7th, 11th, and 12th Judicial Districts — experience that sharpened his skills across a wide range of cases including civil disputes, divorce, parenting plans, contract and construction conflicts, and HOA matters. In total, JD has mediated over 900 cases.

JD's coaching work grows out of a lifelong commitment to personal growth — rooted in fifty years of contemplative practice, his own transformative inner work, and formal certification as a Professional Coach through Integral Coaching Canada. Building on that foundation, he has completed certified training in psychedelic integration coaching through the Psychedelic Coaching Institute, positioning him at the forefront of this rapidly evolving and increasingly recognized field. He works with individuals seeking support in preparing for — or making meaning from — transformative experiences with plant medicines and other consciousness-expanding modalities.

JD has a particular interest in the unique challenges facing men in the 21st century, informed by his own long participation in the Mankind Project and its tradition of men's inner work and service to their community.

“I worked with JD for several months and found him to be a very effective coach. He was easy to talk to, made me feel respected, and he really listened to me. He introduced a very comprehensive program with a number of exercises that felt relevant and specific to my individual needs. Overall, I found the experience valuable and continue to use the practices JD developed for me on an (almost) daily basis.”
